Residential work is judged by a household rather than by a facilities team, which changes what counts as success. A system that a homeowner cannot operate without calling somebody has failed, however well it is engineered — and the most common cause is a house assembled from four apps that do not know about each other, because each subsystem was bought separately.
The second difference is that the fabric is finished. In a villa that is already lived in, cable routes are the constraint that decides the whole design: what can be reached through a ceiling void, what has to be surface-trunked, and what genuinely has to be wireless. This is why a residential survey is more consequential than a commercial one, not less.
SOT designs the network first and the subsystems onto it, so lighting, climate, entry, cameras and audio share one infrastructure and one interface — and so the house can be added to later without a second set of cabling.

How we deliver it

Site survey
An engineer walks the site and records what is actually there — cable routes, containment, power, ceiling voids, existing equipment and its condition. Most of the cost overruns on a project of this kind are either discovered here or discovered late.

Design and Bill of Quantities
A drawn design and an itemised BoQ: every part, its quantity and its price, with the reasoning for the specification written beside it. You own the document whether or not you buy from us.
- 03
Supply from Riyadh stock
Equipment released against the BoQ from local stock where we hold it, or ordered directly from the vendor where we do not. Serial numbers are recorded against your project, so a warranty claim later does not depend on you having kept the paperwork.

Installation and commissioning
Our own engineers install, terminate, configure and test. The testing is documented — link certification, camera fields of view, failover checks — and the results are handed over as part of the file rather than described verbally.
- 05
Handover and support
As-built drawings, configuration backups, credentials and test results, plus training for whoever will run it day to day. Support and warranty are handled by the same team that installed it.
Standards and regulations
What a deployment is measured against. A consultant or a main contractor will check a proposal against these, so they are named rather than implied.

- Electrical installation, earthing and cable routing within a dwelling, including what may share containment with what.
- PDPL
- Residential cameras that overlook shared or public space, and any cloud recording of them, engage the Personal Data Protection Law.
- IEC 60839
- Alarm system grading. Insurers often specify a grade, and the grade dictates detector type, tamper protection and signalling.
- IP65 and above
- Ingress protection for anything outdoors. Dust is the harder half of the requirement here, not water.
