Wireless coverage and wireless capacity are different problems and they are constantly confused. A site can have a strong signal everywhere and still be unusable at nine in the morning, because forty devices are contending for the same access point. Coverage is about signal strength; capacity is about how many clients each radio has to serve and how much airtime each one consumes.
That is why a survey matters. A predictive survey against the real floor plan and construction materials, validated on site, produces an access point count and placement that reflects the building — where a rule of thumb produces a number that is comfortably wrong in both directions at once, over-provisioning open areas and under-provisioning dense ones.
The switching underneath has to be sized for the same reality. PoE budget is the constraint people hit first: a switch advertising PoE+ on every port rarely has the power supply to deliver it on every port at once, and a floor of Wi-Fi 6E access points and PTZ cameras will find that limit quickly.

Concrete cores, foil-backed insulation and glass partitions each change propagation. This is the reason a survey beats an estimate.

Barcode scanners, wireless handsets and medical devices need roaming and airtime guarantees that ordinary browsing does not. Name them early.
