Meeting rooms are the most-complained-about technology in most offices, and the complaints are consistent: it takes too long to start, and the far end cannot hear us. Both are solvable, and neither is solved by buying a more expensive camera.
Starting quickly is a commissioning problem. A room that joins its scheduled meeting from a single button on a panel is used; one that requires selecting an input, waking a computer and connecting a laptop is booked and then worked around. This is integration work rather than hardware selection.
Being heard is an acoustic problem. Microphone type and placement are set by room dimensions and seating, and a glass-walled room will reverberate no matter what is installed in it — sometimes the correct answer is treatment on one wall rather than another microphone. Rooms should be specified individually, because a standard kit applied to rooms of three different sizes will be wrong in two of them.

This decides display size and microphone coverage, and it differs per room. It is the reason a single standard kit disappoints.

Reverberation is an acoustic problem with an acoustic solution. No microphone fully compensates for a hard, parallel-surfaced room.
